Total Student Development Program (TSDP)

The issue relating to Human Development have come to the fore in the last few decades because of the fact that the benefits of economic growth do not necessarily accrue to all sections of the community automatically. Apart from the basic necessities such as food, clothing and shelter, other human choices include long life, good health, adequate education and  creative decision-making, leadership at work place etc.In the context of above TSIS has pioneered a Total Student Development Programme (TSDP).

Objectives of TSDP:

  • To Enhance Knowledge of the World

Structured Programme:
Each day 40 Minute session is devoted to nurture the students in different areas based upon structured curriculum.

Curriculum for TSDP:
Curriculum package is developed by each strategic group in-charge, for each area. Curriculum is reviewed and updated every year. Curriculum package is given shape in the form of booklets for each area for every student.
Following factors are kept in mind while developing curriculum package:

  • The suitability of activities.
  • The interest of the students.
  • And the widest possible range of activities

Assessment and Evaluation of TSDP: 
Students are assessed and evaluated throughout the year by using following tools:

  • Self Appraisal by Students
  • Live projects on Leadership, Group Assignments,
  • Feedback Forms filled on daily basis by the student observer.
  • TSDP Examinations  (conducted twice in a year)
  • TSDP Summer Break Assignments.

 

Conclusion  
The overall objective of TSDP is to ensure that every students of this school who leaves our gate after 10 years of education should be unique, outstanding, knowledgeable individual with values, having creative mind, confident speaker who has achieved academic excellence and is prepared for LIFE LONG JOURNEY

Creativity Nurturing Programme

 

The objectives of the Innovation/Programme:  Following are the objectives of CNP programme to make them think out of the box:

  • To generate many ideas of many different types
  • To become observant
  • To become an imaginative person

The Plan(s) : CNP has following plan of action for students:

  • Raising the creativity consciousness of every child.
  • Building up their interest and confidence in creative thinking.
  • Strengthening creative abilities of students through exercises.
  • Teaching creative thinking techniques.
  • Involving students in creative activities

Strategies and processes: CNP involves following strategies & processes for students to enchance their creativity:

Implementation details:  CNP is implemented among students by using various techniques; some of them are listed below:

  • By providing a situation
  • By giving them writing prompts
  • Drawing and painting sessions
  • Kinesthetic activities (Gift tags, cards, Brochure etc)

Observable of CNP: CNP has following methods to record the performance of students.e.g.

  • Participation in creative thinking, making notes, discussions.
  • Taking part in brain storming sessions
  • Development of interest

Measurable and documented: Creative work done by the students is kept in the resource centre and displayed during important days of the school Like, Fete, Exhibitions, Annual Day, Parents Teachers Meeting etc. Students are awarded for the same e.g.

  • Craft items (Gift tags, cards, Brochure etc)
  • Creative writings
  • Paintings of painting competition
  • Awards for display board competition

Students are able to collate pieces of information and concepts acquired and create new bodies of knowledge, logically based on their own concepts

  • Monthly newsletters prepared by students.

The Co curricular activities  -  Students are taught  the skills / the concepts  in knitting , paper craft , needle work , computer designing , drawing and painting  etc and then students  improvise on the gained knowledge and make  finished products

 

KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORLD

Rationale: In this highly competitive world, it is very difficult to survive with limited knowledge. With the help of KNOW, it is ensured that students are well versed with latest events all around the globe.

  • To enhance the general knowledge of  students.
  • To know more about the national and international developments.
  • To be familiarized with the current affairs

Objectives of KNOW:  Knowledge of the World has following goals & objectives:

  • To prepare the students for competitive exams.
  • To create interest in reading.
  • To inculcate a spirit of rational thinking and  analytical ability

Implementation of KNOW:  To know the world better, we train our students through the following ways.

  • Publication of monthly newsletter which develops journalistic, artistic and general lay out skills of students. Use of display boards to nurture the students’ interest in general knowledge.
  • General knowledge quiz at the end of each term. Knowledge is tested in a stimulating environment and students evolve into quick thinkers and speakers
  • Offer students an opportunity for public debates on current issues
  • Moreover the Knowledge of the World Programme work book provides sufficient information about different countries and its specialties .The students do many project works as a part of this programme.

Expected outcome

  • It is a good platform for the students to know the world better. The children are more equipped with the current events through newspaper reading & other activities. 

 

Value Inculcation Programme

Rationale: With the help of VIP we want to ensure that every student of TSIS excersice universal values not only during school but also in every aspect of life. We want our students to make wordl citizenz with universal values.

PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS PROGRAMME

Rationale: Keeping in mind the core values & objectives of TSIS, Public Speaking Skills Programme has been started to enhance the confidence level of the students. Sometimes even highly educated people become hesitant, shy on the stage & they fail to address the message. Through this programme student get rid of their stage fear.

Challenges and Objectives of PSSP. In this programme we are trying to focus on following aspects of speaking skills:

  • Loudness or softness of voice
  • Facial expression
  • Tone of voice
  • Gestures with hands
  • Speed of delivery
  • Body language

To Enhance Public Speaking Skills we have following activities:

  • Giving formal and informal talks and speeches

Measurable: every student’s behavior, Speaking skills, Confidence level, accent is recorded at the entry level by using a camera. Same process is repeated at the end of the academic session to see the difference in the [personality of the each student.

 

Leadership for Life Programme

Through this programme we want to ensure the every student of this school must have leadership qualities. We want every student to exercise his leadership skills not only in class but also in all the spheres of  life.

Objectives:
This programme has following objectives:

  • To enhance the confidence level of the students in decision making
  • To involve them in all the school activities to display their leadership roles

Implementation:
School has various activities through which they can display their leadership skills like, school council, annual day, fete, quiz competitions and many more.
