School Curriculum

The TSIS Curriculum provides an international education with a firm focus on global issues by engaging students from different cultures within the school in a broad curriculum that promotes worldwide concerns. Through this global approach, students are prepared by teachers/administrators to face the challenges that will await them in today's real world. Our curriculum framework integrates levels of knowledge, skills and understanding with the appropriate stages of a student's intellectual and physical development. This has enabled the school to develop clear and measurable benchmarks which accurately measure a student’s progress and performance. Whenever possible, a multicultural and global dimension is introduced in our academic framework so that our students will have a working understanding of world cultures.

Co-curricular Activities Curriculum

There is much more to high school life than academics and Thai Sikh International  School offers a wide variety of co-curricular activities to supplement formal learning. Students are strongly encouraged to become involved in the co-curricular program, which actively seeks program diversity, to ensure that there is something for all student interests and ability levels. Co-curricular activity is defined as a program or out-of-class activity, supervised and/or financed by the school, which provides curriculum-related learning and team building and leadership experiences. Co-curricular activities are voluntary, are not part of the regular school curriculum, but graded and earn credits for the commitment, contribution or completion of the selected activity.

Philosophy

Thai Sikh International School is committed in providing a balanced, inclusive, and diversified co-curricular program of activities as an important dimension of student learning. Our view is that co-curricular participation is the best predictor of an adult's success.
The Co Curricular activities organized in the school are the potent means of

  1. Nurturing the children to express their inherent talents through Talent Nurturing Programme . The students attain hands on experience to learn some useful activity or to produce some useful products of aesthetic or artistic value.
  1. The inherent leadership qualities, the team building abilities and the leadership for purpose are encouraged through the School House System and the School Student Council. This will provide ample opportunities to the students in promoting values ,creativity, knowledge of the world, public speaking skills , health awareness, cleanliness and discipline in the playground as well as in the ECA
  2. The Physical Education and the a valid and reliable  Battery of Fitness Programme provide children to  gauge how good at shape they  are truly in now and how they can attain the desired standard of fitness upon graduation

Talent Nurturing Programme  is  a model for developing emotional health ,self-awareness and self-esteem, appropriate expectations, positive discipline and empathy.  All behaviour has a reason and the Nurturing Programme encourages children to look beyond the immediate and recognise how our thoughts and behaviour are driven by our emotions.  TNP is a potent means for helping children to express their inborn cultural, creative, literary, scientific and aesthetic talents.

The Talent Nurturing Programme has Clubs and Societies which are categorized as per their   nature of productivity or attainment by the participants.

Needle work Club  where creativity of mind and mastery of hands meet . Here the students with the help of a special needle “ Corsia “make colourful hair bands out of  colourful wool.

Fabric Painting  an activity where they could disperse colours with brush to express their imagination on fabrics. a few colors and a suitable brush, fabric painting opens up endless opportunities for you imagination . It enables you to create one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art or to design some special cushion covers, curtains, or a wall hanging.

Arts Club Children in this club used crayons, watercolors, pastels and paints to draw different objects, nature, imaginary drawings etc. Some of the activities in which Art Club is involved include making posters, signs, and murals for various sports, activities and organizations in our school.
