Imagine for a moment that you’ve been given the power to change the world. What would you change? How would you do it?
This is the heart of what Harvard Model Congress is all about.
It was an opportunity to reflect on all such kind of questions.
There was a :
1. Legislative Branch (House and Senate). The legislative branch of the American government (‘The Congress” is made up of 2 law making bodies; the House of Representatives and the Senate. Though the two have equal standing within the government, each was created to meet different needs. The House is the larger body where members are elected in proportion to the number of citizens within a state. The senate is a smaller body where each state receives equal representation, regardless of size.

2. The Judicial Branch – it allows participants to experience justice in the United States from a variety of perspectives.
3. National Governors Association - The NGA pulls together the chief executive officers from among the 50 states that make up the United States.
4. National Security Council - The NSC is the chief executive council whose purpose is to respond to potential crisis throughout the world that might threaten Americans of American interests.
5. Presidential Cabinet - It is made up of different secretaries of the department of the executive branch. They represent the President.
6. Press Corps - The press plays a vital role in the American democracy as it presents all kinds of information.
